Global Action summary

                                               Global Action

For Reading we had to read an article called Global Action by Phillip Simpson. This is a summary on the article.

What is this about?

This article gives us information on things that are causing global warming as well as ways that we are trying to stop this or cutdown on resources that are affecting global warming.
Rising temperatures
Earths average temperature has risen by around 1 degree Celsius within the last century, and scientists say if we continue this way of living, it will increase by a further 2-6 degrees by 2100!
Did you know?
Did you know, about half of New Zealand’s emissions came from transport, electricity production, industry, and waste!
What about the other half?
The other half of New Zealand’s emissions come from agriculture. This is due to sheep and cattle releasing methane and nitrous oxide into the atmosphere!
What we can do to fix this.
A type of grass called ryegrass. The extra sugar in this helps microbes use more of the grasses available protein. So if there is less protein that is passed through the animal, then there is less nitrogen being released into the environment!
Thank you for reading my summary, I hope you have learnt something from this.
